Thrifty Haul (Thrift Store, Ross, Target)

Hey all! I have really been inspired by Pinterest lately and what you can find for decor at the thrift store, so I decided to go check one out and see what I could find. I think I found some good stuff to start out, but I am sure I will get much better at thrifting with more practice. I thought I would just make a post about the items I found and a little bit of a collective haul with things I was also able to find at Ross and Target. I hope you enjoy this post and please let me know what other types of things I should keep an eye out for the next time I go to the thrift store.

Thrift Store

The French Laundry Cookbook $1. I was looking for healthy cookbooks at the thrift store, but this is what I found. Not exactly healthy, but super fancy, nice food that may be fun to make for a dinner party. This book is obviously also just nice to look at.

Yellow Recipe Tin 50¢. I thought this little in recipe tin was so cute, but I’m not entirely sure what I am going to put in it yet or where I will put it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Wicker Basket $1. I love this little basket and am thinking I can just use it to keep things a little more organized or even put cute little linens in. I do also want to find a basket without a handle because I think it looks so cute when you use a wicker basket to put potted plants in.

You Are a Badass $2. I am so excited to read this book because I have heard such amazing things about it. Currently I am struggling with going through job interviews and have had a lot of rejection, so I am hoping this will help me with my confidence throughout this process. I am super excited to read it and will try to give a little review on it in a future post if anyone is interested.

Scarfs $4 and $2. The more expensive scarf is the white, red and blue one I have included in all of my pictures and I absolutely love it. I am thinking I might put this at the end of a bed or drape it somewhere. I also bought a more colorful one, which is similar in size, pictured below because they had a buy one get one free deal.

Ross Dress For Less

Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Shoes $52.99. These shoes were such a splurge for me, but I have been wanting shoes in this color and my boyfriend insisted that I get them because they are such fancy tennis shoes. They are super comfortable and stretchy and I really think they are adorable, so I am really happy I got them. In the end, they were a pretty great deal. I’ve linked them above on Amazon, but I haven’t found these anywhere else in this colorway.

The Balm, The Manizer Sisters $4.99 I could not pass up this deal! I have heard amazing things about the Mary-Lou Manizer and the Betty-Lou Manizer so I really wanted to try this out. I am slowly collecting The Balm products from Ross and TJ Maxx and I have loved everything I have tried so far and you can find really great deals on this brand at those stores.

Whamisa by Glow Studio Cleansing Gel $4.15. I am not sure why this was on such a good sale (originally $24.99). I think because the box was slightly dented, but I also think that this has been discontinued because it is no longer on the Target website. However, either way, I still wanted to try it out because it really does have good reviews.

I am really excited to start reading and putting a lot of this decor in the new house! I decided not to take the pictures in a decorative way because I am planning on posting lots of pictures for each room when I move in. I will also plan on posting more thrift hauls when I do more in the future. Please let me know in the comments if you have any super creative ideas for how to use these items because I will need all the help I can get. Thank you so much for reading!

  1. I am so excited for you! Loved every special find and story about it! Moving into your own place after years of schooling is a huge deal!!! This “nesting” is so healthy for you! Can’t wait to see the next set of pictures you post! The yellow tin could hold all sorts of tiny things you don’t want to lose, safety pins, paper clips, ect…or go old school and use it for actual recipe cards. Start writing them down for posterity. Just one happy reading following along! ❤

    1. Thanks! Its super exciting! I’m sure I will just have to play around with things until I find an arrangement I like. I’m so happy you enjoyed the post!

  2. Awesome finds! I love finding good deals at store like TJ Maxx and Marshall’s 😀 I actually recently bought a ton of beads and buttons, and at a loss of where to keep them, I stumbled upon a cheap recipe tin like yours. So that’s where they went! Lol. They aren’t sorted but at least I know my cats won’t scatter them.

  3. I wish I could find some better things at my local thrift store. I think I don’t go enough to get the good deals. I also need to venture out of my neighborhood and have a plan for what I want. We’ve donated so many clothes in the bast two months, that I saw my daughters floral print jeans on display. LOL

    1. Oh haha I love it when finding the clothes you’ve donated in the thrift store, but mine have never been on display! So far I haven’t looked necessarily for certain items, but I can imagine it is much more difficult when you have a list of things you are looking for and I am sure they are going to be tired of seeing me at all the thrift stores.
